CAPE TOWN…what a city? She truly earned the title “MotherCity”. We were blown away(both literally and figuratively), by this awesome city. We visited the city in the winter month of July and were warned that that the wind will ruin our stay. I remember huddling around the fire place of a very trendy coffee shop, being entertained by our host(who pulled out all the stops for us!!). The hotel offered sublime food and lavish deco. Yes the weather did hamper our visits to Robben Island, seal Island and going up the Table Mountain…but we made up for that plenty on the wine route(he he…luckily we had travelled on a tour…otherwise we would have been in big trouble with the law). Man the hospitality of this city (from the car guard to the restaurateur) was absolutely awesome and this is one city that has left her imprint in my heart. Surrounded by whale infested seas to “blanket” topped mountains, and Jazz fusion in the background...you better believe that we will return!! |
