Soweto as a tourist attraction is growing in popularity. Visitors want to pay their respects to Nelson Mandela and Hector Pieterson in particular, two larger-than-life heroes of the struggle against apartheid TOUR HIGHLIGHTS: Informal settlement, affluent suburbs, Mandela House, Hector Peterson Memorial, Winnie Mandela and Desmond Tutu houses, and `shebeen' (tavern).
