Our Experience:

A honeymoon that will bring us back for many years to come...

Travelling through Africa had always been our dream, and once this became our reality, we were hooked!

When Devon and I first travelled to South Africa, we felt the heartbeat of Africa, which pushed every one of our senses to unimaginable heights. The warmth of the South African people, the jaw-dropping landscapes, the calls of the wild, the culinary delights, and the Zulu culture that left an imprint of Africa on our hearts.

So when Devon finally proposed, we immediately concurred that a South African destination wedding would be best for us... the big question was: "DO WE ELOPE?"
We consulted our travel agent and unanimously decided to create an extra special occasion by inviting our close family to join us. Before we knew it, our African wedding was happening! We designed e-invites, made contact with the local wedding planner, got "the dress", and were ready to head to Africa!

We all arrived in Cape Town, South Africa's "Mother City,". We were met by the same tour guide from our first trip, and it was a wonderful reunion... a gentle soul with the biggest smile that you will never forget! He loaded all our bags into the minivan and off we went to our hotel. The day was clear with blue skies, which seemed to energise everybody as we dropped our bags and did a city walk-about tour before sipping sundowner drinks on Signal Hill, taking in the most beautiful city site in the world!
We spent 4 days in Cape Town, taking in the sights with our driver-guide, who we fell in love with all over again. He was so knowledgeable and professional with a great sense of humour! We spend time on the Cape Peninsula and in the Winelands too, tasting yummy Cape wines and buying a bottle or two... or three... HAHAHA!

Our "BIG DAY" was getting closer, and we felt extremely relaxed knowing that all was in order. The wedding planner kept us up to speed on the arrangements, and all we had to do was take in the sights and be on holiday. We headed to Durban, where we finally met our wedding planner after months of face-timing. We stayed 1 night in Durban to make the final wedding day arrangements and, of course, do some last-minute shopping. Before we knew it, we were off to the game lodge for our 3-night wedding safari experience.
On arrival at the lodge, the rooms were prepared for all our guests arriving for the wedding. Not everyone could make the Cape Town trip, but they managed to make it to KwaZulu-Natal for our wedding and then travelled with us from there. We had exclusive use of the lodge and enjoyed our time under the African sky which was dotted with the brightest stars we could ever imagine.  Finally, our big day had come. Our nature-inspired dream wedding had come true. Great weather, stunning deco, divine food, and groovy music had all created the perfect Zulu-inspired African Wedding.
Our first day as Mr&Mrs was a day to remember as the lodge transformed from wedding to safari again, which symbolised our new married journey. Even the animals seemed celebratory of our union as they all showed up in full force on both game drives that day. We headed to Ballito for 1-night stay before our early flight to Victoria Falls.

Soon we were ready to leave the hotel and head to Durban's King Shaka International Airport for our next destination - 3 days at Victoria Falls! The Victoria Falls were awe-inspiring as the sprays from the Mosi-oa-Tunya cleansed our souls (deep stuff). We also treated everybody to a traditional dinner at The Boma, with dancing and a Sangoma who read our fortunes. Mine said I was connected to Africa and will be back with my babies... I loved that!

After a real activity-filled time, we departed The Victoria Falls and said our "Farewells" to everybody and headed to Kasane Airport for our 4-night HONEYMOON in the Okavango Delta. If there was ever a time we connected, it was in the Delta. The remoteness, the luxury and the safari experience ended our perfect wedding destination on the highest of high notes.
Never could we have imagined such a trip possible!!! It was seamless, efficient, and exceeded our every expectation.
And it all began with one phone call to our travel agent... Thank you, Tess!
