Southern African Safari Escape

Looking out of my apartment window towards the horizon, I had the desire to be in a place where high risers were non-existent. Then it came to me - Africa! The lure of wide-open spaces, immersing myself in Mother Nature, and the sounds of a roaring lion. That’s exactly where I put myself.

With no time to spare, we landed at OR Tambo International Airport and headed directly for our charter flight to the Sabi Sands Game Reserve. No skyscrapers, just us on safari for the next 4 days. It was pure bliss. We ate delectable meals, drank amazing wines and sat amongst a pride of lions. It was absolutely breathtaking.

Soon, we were off to Kruger Mpumalanga Airport for a commercial flight to the charming colonial town of Livingstone in Zambia. We were greeted with the biggest smile from our guide, Steven, who was waiting to drive us to our hotel which overlooked the Zambezi River. The sprays from the mighty Victoria Falls created endless rainbows and looked so magical. Our 3 nights stay was incredible and filled with magnificent sunsets and snorkeling elephants crossing the Zambezi River. We had created some magical memories here. We just couldn't put our cameras down.

From Livingstone, we made our way to The Okavango Delta via a charter flight from Kasane for the last leg of our Southern African Safari Adventure. The Okavango Delta had to be our best experience ever! Arriving in the lodge was just like a movie scene with animals on the runway and a lone safari vehicle waiting to greet us. Add to this a table set up with welcome drinks and refresher towels - very romantic as we sipped on our drinks as we watched the zebra on the landing strip. Soon it was off to the lodge. Well, we were welcomed with harmonious singing as we arrived at the lodge. It was so special. We knew that our 5-night stay was going to be one of pure bliss and relaxation. Meandering the waterways of the Delta had to be the highlight of our safari experience.
