Iconic stay in Southern Africa

South Africa is a first-choice honeymoon destination for most couples and it's really easy to see why. With choices from the Cape vineyards to magical mountain escapes. From long walks alongside the warm Indian Ocean and ending with the most romantic safari sunsets that no imagination could conjure - South Africa has a proven recipe for the most romantic honeymoon escape.
It was a no-brainer! With our wedding wrapped up, bags packed and passports in hand, we were off on our romantic honeymoon rendezvous.

Arriving in Cape Town was magical as the "blanket" of clouds draped over Table Mountain created the perfect welcome setting. Our chauffeur drove us to our hotel where we stayed for the next three magical nights. We loved that our chauffeur was a driver guide too, so we had the flexibility of where and when we wanted to travel. We did all sorts of amazing things from a helicopter fly-over city experience to tasting lots of delicious South African wines in Franschhoek. We opted to rather stay in Cape Town as our base and travel the surrounding areas each day if we wanted to. Cape Town itself was abuzz with entertainment and very colorful people. We could clearly see why this is South Africa's iconic city.

Before we knew it, transfer from OR Tambo Airport was transferring us to Pretoria Station just in time to board the world's most luxurious train, Rovos Rail, heading to Victoria Falls. Our iconic train journey took two nights to arrive at Victoria Falls where our driver was waiting to transport us to our hotel. We stayed in Victoria Falls for three nights and the only word that describe our experience was "wow!". The iconic Victoria Falls was the most jaw-dropping experience that definitely left an imprint on our souls. From endless rainbows to huge smiles, and not to mention wild elephant road crossings - we fell in love! Our highlights were the boat cruises with amazing sunsets, snorkeling elephants and the rush of adrenaline on our white water river rafting experience on the Zambezi River.

To end our spectacular African experience, we headed cross-border to Kasane, Botswana in time for our journey high - the Okavango Delta. We spent the next 3 nights drinking in the remoteness of Africa. The romantic allure of a mokoro ride on waterways filled with crocodiles, hippos and swimming elephants re-ignited a flame in our souls that city life seemed to diminish. The stars that illuminated our night paths seem to dance on the earth, as lions roared in the background. This was what "ending on a high note" truly means!
