Luxury Train & Lovely Wine Journey

Guess what we did for our 10 year (Tin) anniversary?
We booked what had to be the grandest of all celebrations - a romantic trip to Zimbabwe and South Africa.
Our agent made this the most seamless travel itinerary that was professional from the enquiry to the return flight home.

On arrival in Victoria Falls, our guide was waiting for us with our names on a signboard, and a huge big smile to welcome us. We just knew that our 3 night's stay in Victoria Falls was going to be very special. We arrived at our lodge just in time for lunch. We could see the sprays from the Victoria Falls in the distance. That day was our actual anniversary and the lodge arranged a special sundowner stop overlooking Batoka Gorge. Wow, that left an indelible memory for us.
The next day was quite a touristy day. We travelled to the town where we visited the mighty Musi-O-Tunya Falls (my best), followed by lunch at The Lookout Café. Here we decided to test our marriage...hahahahahahaha. We both booked an activity called The Flying Fox (what fun as I conquered some fears). I went first and burst my cheeks laughing at my husband, who thought if I can do it, it was going to be a piece of cake. Very funny as he battled to actually launch. That was great fun! Once the adrenalin subsided, we headed to the market and then back to the lodge. Time flew past that day and we retired quite early. For our last night, we opted for a sunset cruise on the Zambezi River and were privileged to watch some elephants swim across the river.
Before we could blink, we were saying our goodbyes and headed to the train station for our 3 night luxury journey from Victoria Falls to Pretoria. This was legendary as we were taken back to the time where butlers served, cigar bars were a big thing and dinner was a formal affair. We ate, drank and completely relaxed in the lap of opulence. The staff on board Rovos Rail made us feel like "royalty".
Arrival at Pretoria Station was a jolt back to reality as we entered the city. Our driver was waiting to transport us to OR Tambo International Airport in time for our charter flight to Zululand, where we were on safari for the next 3 nights. We were spoilt rotten with amazing game drives, breathtaking sunsets and Zulu cultural experiences that moved our souls. We were so impressed by this safari experience. Our charter flight took us to Durban, where we stayed the night at an iconic sea-facing hotel in the most beautiful setting. We left the next day to King Shaka Airport for our flight to Cape Town, where we stayed for the next 3 nights.
Cape Town was a completely different experience from the places we had just visited. In our opinion a perfect ending to our African journey. We destressed in the spa and drank far too much of their delicious wine - we were hooked!
Sadly, we are down to our last bottle at home, making that the perfect opportunity to return.
